The text is written in dark brown ink in a dense Gothic hand, in about seventeen lines, with words closely packed and frequent abbreviations. Two large illuminated initials open the repeated words \"Pater noster\": the upper one combines blue, pink, gold, and a curling vegetal motif inside a dark outlined square; the lower one, partly cut off at the bottom edge, uses pink and blue with fine white details. Between the text lines are small rectangular line-fillers in blue, red, pink, and gold. Along the left edge, a narrow strip of a border from the facing page or the same page's outer margin is visible, with green leaves and blue shapes. The dominant right border grows from scrolling acanthus in deep blue and burnished gold, interwoven with slender stems, pointed green leaves, pink oval buds, and small blue-and-gold flowers. Tiny black dots and fine pen flourishes stipple the white ground. The vellum shows slight unevenness, faint stains, and soft shadows near the binding, giving the page a tactile, handmade surface.","contexto":"This is folio 153 recto of a Book of Hours for the Use of Rouen, made around 1470 in Rouen, France. It is attributed to the Master of the Geneva Latini, active in Rouen between 1460 and 1480 and regarded as the city's leading illuminator in the second half of the fifteenth century. The source notes that, in the late 1400s and early 1500s, Rouen was an important center of book production, with a wealthy cathedral chapter that commissioned books and maintained a large library, and with stationers and booksellers probably located near the cathedral. Books of Hours were widely used books of private prayer. Who commissioned or first owned this example is not known.","como_mirarla":"Start with the two ornate initials that read \"Pater noster\" and then follow the dense brown script line by line. Next, shift to the right border and trace how the blue and gold acanthus scrolls link buds, leaves, and small flowers. I pause on the surface, that warm creamy vellum is not flawless, it shows faint stains, soft shadows near the spine and handmade irregularities.
