At the bottom curls of the initial, two green dragon or hybrid heads with open jaws and red tongues emerge among reddish tendrils. The surface shows fine craquelure, worn gold, and lightly flaked pigment, with the matte texture of tempera contrasting the metallic sheen of gold.
