Faint ruled lines guide the writing, and a few tiny marks in pale red appear among the words. On the right, occupying roughly a third of the width, a tall, narrow illuminated border glows against the matte page. At the top and bottom, sweeping acanthus scrolls curl in deep blue and burnished gold, almost like mirrored flames or vines. Between them rises a delicate stem with green pointed leaves, blue bell-shaped flowers, and round red blossoms with dotted golden centers. Tiny dark specks scatter across the white ground of the panel. This page has two very different parts! On one side there are many tiny brown letters, very neat, like seventeen very tight lines that barely let me see the creamy background. On the other side there is a border with pretty colors that shines. At the top and bottom there are blue and golden curly plants, and in the middle a little stem climbs with green leaves, little blue flowers and little red flowers with a golden center. I like that one side is serious and the other looks like a shiny garden.
