This is folio 56v of a Book of Hours for the Use of Rouen, made around 1470 in Rouen, France, with ink, tempera, and gold on vellum. According to the Cleveland Museum of Art, Rouen was an important center of book production in the late 1400s and early 1500s, supported in part by its wealthy cathedral chapter and the stationers and booksellers gathered near the cathedral. The artist, known as the Master of the Geneva Latini after a manuscript now in Geneva, was probably the city's leading illuminator in the second half of the 1400s. The owner's name is not known from the source.
