This is folio 72r of a Book of Hours (Use of Rouen), made around 1470 in Rouen, France, in ink, tempera, and gold on vellum. It is attributed to the Master of the Geneva Latini, active in Rouen between 1460 and 1480 and named after a manuscript now in Geneva. According to the Cleveland Museum of Art, in the late 1400s and early 1500s Rouen was an important center of book production, supported by its wealthy cathedral chapter and by stationers and booksellers likely gathered near the cathedral precinct. The volume is now at the Cleveland Museum of Art, a gift of the Feiss family.

This leaf looks like a half-decorated cake! Up top everything is written in tiny packed brown letters I can barely read, but there is a red word that says «Psalmus» and big blue and gold letters that shine like jewels. On the right there is a magic vine with curly blue leaves, pink and blue little flowers, black dots and red balls that look like cherries. The funny part is they left a huge empty space below, as if they forgot to keep writing and left the page blank for drawing.
