This bone disc makes me look through a magnifying glass. It is a spindle whorl from Iran, from 700 to 900, and although it is a tool for spinning wool or cotton, it is fully incised. Notice the central hole with its raised ring and the concentric circles with a dot around it, some double. I am interested in the yellowish ivory tone with brown veins, the nicks on the edge and the shine from wear. That hatched hexagonal frame was not needed for spinning, but someone took the time to carve it with finesse.
