This bolt reminds me of how we aim at the sky. It is a short and thick arrow, made for the power of the crossbow, not like longbow arrows. It looks like a very old little stick someone found and kept with great care. It is long and brown, with little lines and darker spots, as if all scratched up and full of tiny cracks. On one side it is flat and a bit ugly, as if bitten, and on the other it has a sharp little black tip. It has no little feathers like the arrows in storybooks. It lies alone on a gray background and takes up almost the whole photo. I wonder if it really flew very fast when shot from a giant crossbow.
