What you would seeLo que verías
Set against a matte black background, a scientific panel titled → COMET CHANGES at the upper left presents a comparative study. At the center, two grayscale overview images show Comet 67P with its distinctive two-lobed, rubber-duck-like irregular shape, bright against darkness, with a highly porous, rugged topography, deep shadows and a granular texture of rock and ice. Thin white leader lines radiate from circled locations on the nucleus to eight smaller paired insets arranged on the left and right. Each pair shows a before and after view of a specific site: moving boulder, newly revealed scarp, collapsing cliff, erosion and exhumation, texture changes, scarp formation, fracture growth and ripple evolution. Each inset carries a small scale bar in meters, yellow arrows marking the exact spot of change, and date labels at the top. A magnified detail of a depression appears above center. The lighting is harsh and directional, raking across craters, boulders and layered outcrops to emphasize relief. Credits run along the bottom, with the ESA logo at top right, giving the whole composition the clarity of a museum infographic.
How to look at itCómo mirarla
Start with the two central nucleus views to grasp the comet's odd double-lobed shape. Follow the thin connector lines to each before-and-after pair and locate the small yellow arrows; noticing those subtle shifts reveals how active this icy world is. Pay attention to the scale bars to sense the true size of each change.
ContextContexto
The graphic, released on 21 March 2017, summarizes results from ESA's Rosetta spacecraft, which escorted Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko for over two years between 2014 and 2016. Central context views were taken by the NAVCAM camera and the detailed comparisons by OSIRIS and partner instruments, as credited to ESA/Rosetta teams. Hosted by NASA's Image and Video Library via JPL under catalogue PIA21566, it documents real surface activity driven by solar heating as the comet approached the Sun, from boulder movements to cliff collapses. Exact dates and orientations vary between pairs, so arrows are provided as guides.
Rosetta was the first mission to orbit a comet and to deploy a lander, Philae, to its surface in November 2014, making this extended time-lapse monitoring possible.

I am interested in how this panel makes the ephemeral visible. Against the matte black, comet 67P appears in light grays, porous and rough, lit by grazing light that defines every shadow and layer. Thin white lines connect the bilobed body to eight before-and-after pairs, and there the yellow arrows and the scale bars in meters let us measure without touching. It is a work of temporal documentation, patient monitoring between 2014 and 2016 that preserves the trace of ice and rock.

What we see is the nucleus of comet 67P photographed by Rosetta, the ESA mission that orbited it for more than two years. The two central grayscale views show its bilobed, irregular shape, and around them there are eight change zones with dates and metric scales. Each yellow arrow points to something real: a rock that moved, a cliff that collapsed, a fracture that grew, ripples that evolved. It is proof that a comet is not a dead rock, it is an active world of ice and dust under the Sun.

It looks like a lumpy space snowman with two balls stuck together floating in the black. From the big comet little white threads go to many tiny photos that are like a spot-the-difference game. The yellow arrows tell you look here! and you see that a stone moved or a wall fell down. It is fun to think that in space things also break and move, even though nobody touches them, just because the Sun heats them up.
