A vertical textile fragment, irregular and heavily frayed, is mounted centered on a smooth off-white background. Its silhouette narrows, widens and breaks into points, with loose threads, holes and missing areas, especially on the right side and at the bottom. At the top there is a pale, coarse band of undyed cloth, followed by a tapestry border with a meandering vine, leaves and small blocks in pink, green, dark blue and beige. The middle is dominated by a deep wine-red field. Within it, tan, green and ochre shapes form highly stylized figures that are hard to separate at first glance: a partial face in profile at upper left, raised limbs, curved forms suggesting bows, a central oval motif and lines that mirror each other. At lower left there is a striking black patch with small reddish figures. Toward the lower right a tan horse, the edge of a saddle and a rider's leg can be made out above a striped, four-legged animal with an open mouth. At the bottom, decorative bands with vines and geometric rectangles reappear. The weave looks matte, fibrous and slightly rough, with flat areas of color and visible wear.

This textile makes me think of constellations. Against the intense wine red background I see figures in ochre, green and beige that repeat like a mirror, just like reflected stars. At the upper left I make out a profile face and raised limbs holding bows, at the lower right an ochre horse with its rider and a striped animal with open mouth. The vine bands at top and bottom are like the borders of a sky map framing the hunting scene.

It looks like a broken puzzle with lots of little threads sticking out. It is long with pointy bits at the bottom, and it has small holes where you can see the bone colored background. At the top there is a light part with no color and then a border with little pink and green plants. In the middle everything is dark red and there are tricky little drawings: a face, little legs lifted up, a yellowish horse and a striped animal opening its mouth. I like to search for shapes and trace the vines with my finger.
