We cannot see the automaton mechanism in the still photo, but we know it exists and needs careful handling to avoid stressing its moving parts and to preserve the gilding.

This little box looks like a hidden treasure. It is oval, dark and shiny like a polished stone, with a golden border with tiny beads around it. If you look through the little glass window you see a tiny story: a man in a red coat with a floating crown, a white pedestal with a golden eagle, a little winged angel holding a paper and a warrior with a red cape and a sword. Below there are two golden cannons lying down and little balls stacked up. I imagine that if you touch it, something moves!
